Ethnic food is
defined as food that is originated from a culture and heritage of an ethnic
group, who use their knowledge of local plants and animal sources. It can also
be defined as country’s cuisine, which is socially and culturally accepted by
the consumers outside of the respective ethnic group.
Types of Ethnic Foods from All over The World
Sushi or Sashimi
Sushi is made from lean fish and
steamed rice. It is right in proteins and carbohydrates. You can also add some
avocado and mix it thoroughly. Sashimi is same like that of sushi. The only
difference is you need not add rice to it. This is considered as one of the
ethnic food all over the world.
Tandoori Chicken
Tandoori chicken is cooked on skewers
inside a cylindrical clay type of oven, which is known as tandoor. It is simply
marinated with spices, lemon juice, and yogurt. It is a low fat and protein
rich dish. This is again one of the famous ethnic dishes in the world.
Bean Burrito
Bean burrito is made from black or
pinto beans. It is rich in dietary fiber that offer a healthy dose of protein
and carbs, which keeps you full and energized. You can also add some salsa and
wrap it in corn or wheat tortilla. You can also add some crumble of queso
fresco and top with hot sauce.
Pasta Primavera
Pasta primavera is packed with lot of
vegetables. This dish serves as an antioxidant. As it has garlic in it, it
prevents blood clots and lowers blood pressure, and reduces cholesterol and
triglycerides level. Make this dish with tomato base that taste better rather
than using packed cream sauces. Most of the people who prefer vegan vegetarian food opt
for this dish.
Couscous
Couscous is a North African dish, which is made
from durum wheat. It is used a nutritious base for salads and a variety of
vegetable and meat dishes. You can also sweeten it and spice it up with dry
fruits and serve it as a dessert. To maximize its nutritional value, use whole
wheat couscous over the regular one.
